Whew…It has been darn hot here at Safer® Brand Headquarters and the weather channel says it’s a heat wave up and down the east coast! So my July 4th festivities included picnics and trying to stay cool and also some perfectly timed ripe tomatoes!
My tomato plant gave me my first two perfectly ripe beefsteak tomatoes of the season just in time to make a delicious salad for our family gathering! I added fresh, sweet basil which is growing like crazy in my garden and some delicious mozzarella cheese. We Chicagoans are jealous. It’ll be another couple weeks before our first beefsteak ripens. But my patio and Sungold tomatoes will keep us happy until then.
